PLEASE CHECK STUDENT FOLDER EVERY NIGHT FOR HOMEWORK AND IMPORTANT NOTICES!

Read to your child every night.  
Please have your child practice writing their first name.  Provide a model for them to copy.
Practice number identification 0 -30. Please practice writing numbers 0 to 20.

We are learning how to make many different patterns.  AB patterns have 2 colors that repeat
such as red-blue-red-blue.
ABB patterns also have 2 colors but repeat like this...red-blue-blue-red-blue-blue.
ABC patterns have 3 colors that repeat....red-white-blue-red-white-blue

Please practice shape identification: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, and rhombus(diamond),
trapezoid and hexagon.

Letters and Sounds in the order in which they will be introduced:
September and October: Mm, Ss, Rr,Tt, Pp, Cc (as in cookie), Aa (as in apple).
November and December : Nn, Dd, Ff, Gg (as in girl), Ii (as in igloo).
January and February: Ll, Hh, Bb, Kk, Oo (as in October), Ww, Xx.
March and April: Vv, Jj, Ee (as in egg), Yy, Zz.
May : Qq, Uu (as in umbrella).

We are also learning to read the color names: red, green, blue, black, brown, white, purple,
pink, orange and yellow.
Practice reading them with your child.

Science:  We will begin our next science kit, Wood and Paper this week.  We will be learning about the properties of wood and paper, where they come from, what can be made with them and how they interact with water.  During the course of this science unit we will also be recycling paper and making a new piece of paper.

November 18: American Education Week Activity: 10:30-11:15 Come join us for Math and help your child make their very own Monster Squeeze Game.  They will teach you how to play!!
November 17, 18, 19: Short Days-Dismissal at 12:45 for Parent-Teacher Conferences. No lunch is served. Please send in lunch with your child. We will eat in the classroom.
November 20: Picture Re-take day
November 26: Short Day-Dismissal at 12:45
November 27: No School-Thanksgiving

Lunch and/or breakfast tickets can only be purchased on THURSDAYS.
Tickets purchased are good for the following week (Monday - Friday).
We are not given the tickets until Monday.
Please make sure your money is sent in on Thursday as tickets will
only be sold on that day!
