Homework Assignment for December 19th through January 10th:
Mrs. Cirillo’s Ancient Egypt Board Game Directions: Due Tuesday January 10th, 2012
You are going to be the inventor of a new board game about Ancient Egypt.  Your classmates will play your game as a review for your Ancient Egypt test.

Type of Board Game:
Think of a board game that you enjoy playing.  Use that game as a model or create an original game of your own, however, know that all parts of the game need to relate to Ancient Egypt.

Create your Game:
Decide the purpose of your game.  (Example: To get to the other side of the Nile River, to collect all of the pieces of the pyramid, to rescue a mummy, to climb to the top of the pyramid, etc.)  The purpose must relate to Ancient Egypt.  Create the board that you will use.

     Make your Materials:
Construct materials that you will need in order to play your game.
*Create game pieces.  Decide how many players can play your game, what the game pieces would look like (examples: Egyptian pharaohs, pyramids, hieroglyphics, etc.) to move around your game board.  Decide how players will move, will they use a dice or a spinner.  Put them in a bag labeled with your full name and class period.
*Create at least 30 multiple choice questions about Ancient Egypt with the answer displayed on the card.  Have the correct answer covered with a flap.  The questions must relate to information in Ch.5.  Put them in a zip lock bag labeled with your full name and class period.
*Create a direction page that explains the rules to students on how to play your game.  Be sure to state how to determine who goes first, what happens if a student answers a question correct or if they get a question incorrect, and how they know if they won the game.
All materials (game board, questions, and game pieces) must relate to Ancient Egypt.
Due Dates:
-The name of your Ancient Egypt board game is due on December 21st.
-30 multiple choice questions with the answer displayed and covered are due on January 4th.
-Your materials for your game, the board, pieces, and directions are due on January 9th.
-Final due date: Tuesday January 10th, 2012
You may not use your homework passes on any part of this project.
