Goal ~ To understand the art and architecture of Ancient Egypt [Kmt, Kemet]
by creating a pyramid and decorating its walls.
MAKE A PYRAMID
WORLD HISTORY: ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS textbook, page 171:
Follow the instructions on page 171.
Also, follow these additional instructions and modifications:
MATERIALS & SUPPLIES - It’s OK to use white construction paper.
- It’s OK to use a different material, like cardboard.
DO THE ACTIVITY - I suggest you start with 12" x 18" construction paper.
Measure and cut-out 6 squares that are 6" x 6".
(1) It’s OK to make the pyramid larger than 6", but not smaller.
(2) ALSO : illustrate the other side of the triangles to look like the outside of a pyramid.
(see page 168, bottom). Illustrate the pyramid’s inside floor.
Be prepared to answer the two FOLLOW-UP questions.
Be prepared to make the EXTENSION presentation to the class.
