Thursday -- To lie or not to lie? Write a one-page reflective journal on lying. When it is necessary? When isn't it necessary. How does the lie impact the liar?
How does the lie impact the person being lied to? Feel free to include a short anecdote about your personal experience with lying.
Friday -- Read chapters 1 - 4 of The Catcher in the Rye. Be prepared for a quiz on Monday on your reading. Pay attention to narration, point of view,
tone, characterization, symbolism, etc.

Tuskegee Airmen and write a reflective essay of a minimum of 250 words typed reviewing the movie. A movie review
contains: a discussion of the actors/characters, a discussion of the plot, setting, props, cinematography, a discussion of
your personal reactin to what you saw and heard and a brief summary of the story and its significance. ENJOY!!

1. The classroom will be a safe environment devoted to learning. Respect is mandatory at all times -- for one another and for our school.
2. Students must come to class prepared daily with a notebook, writing utensils and text or trade book as assigned.
3. All assignments must be turned in on time and must be the original work of the student. Extensions/makeups are allowed for excused absences
(note provided) only, within a time frame specified by teacher. There is no extra credit in this class.
4. Foul/offensive language, food and beverages and electronics are not allowed.
5. A substitute teacher is there to assign work that your regular teacher has prepared. It will be assessed in the same manner as if your regular teacher were present.
Important: breaking of class guidelines will have disciplinary consequences including after-school detentions, parent conferences and referrals. Your grade can and will be affected.
