Reading Homework (2nd, 3rd, 5th grade)
- Any Reading, Spelling, Grammar or Writing homework assigned by your child's homeroom teacher is to be done, unless he or she is given an assignment specifically from me.
- Please read for pleasure 15 to 30 minutes a night. Magazines, picture and chapter books, newspapers and comic books are all good choices. Your child may borrow a book or magazine from me. Please be sure your child reads it and returns it when done.
- Ask your child questions about what they read: ask about details and characters in stories, what the main idea is in an article or story, favorite parts in a book, why a character did what he/she did, or even how would they change the book ending if they were writing the story.
Math Homework (3rd grade)
- Homework is a practice of what was done in class that day or skills that were previously taught. Please review it with your child to be sure they understand what to do.
- Practice addition, subtraction and multiplication facts every night.
- Math homework is assigned by your child's homeroom teacher unless otherwise specified. If I assign anything different, I will send it in the purple Math homework folder with my name on it.
