The Electronic Heart of the School

Teachers can bring classes to use our lab of 29 Dell computers. Sign up in advance either using a request form at the lab or clicking on the request form above to download and fill out a paper form or email as an attachment. To see if time is available, consult the schedule book in Room 200 or look at the week's schedule above. I am available to help teachers in designing projects that utilize the computers as well as give direct instruction to their students on how to use specific programs like Excel or PowerPoint.
We have a variety of ways of enabling teachers to show classes materials from a computer. These include a Smart Board and/or remote operation of student computers in the lab or a LCD projector and/or laptop on a cart in the teacher's classroom.
Teachers may sign out other Audio/Visual Equipment also from the Technology Center. We have digital still cameras, video cameras, tripods, as well as laptops, overhead LCD projectors, and carts. In addition, we can transfer videos from videocameras onto a laptop for editing and download items from YOU-TUBE for later classroom use on media.rahway.net.
Students may come to the lab from lunch, a study hall or class but only with a PASS. They may work on school assignments or look up information about colleges or careers or check email, but no non-educational games or videos may be viewed at any time.
