Physical Education Grading:

Student’s grades are determined by:
        1.  Preparation
        2.  Participation & Attitude
        3.  Physical Fitness Testing

Students begin each marking period with 100 points.  Deductions from the 100 points are made only when it is necessary.  The following is a guide to possible deductions.  Deductions cannot be made up.

1.  Completely unprepared:  no participation                    -9   (5 unprepared = F)
2.  Missing part of gym uniform:
    no socks                                                    -2
    no shirt                                                             -2
3.  Late out of locker room                                      -2
4.  Lack of effort in warm-ups or activities             -2
5.  Poor attitude or poor sportsmanship                          -5
6.  Unacceptable behavior in the locker room             -5
7.  Not following rules or direction                              -5
8.  Extreme misconduct (language)                                 -10 (may receive no credit for the day)

If a student maintains a 100 through out the marking period.  That student is allowed to exempt himself or herself from one section of the fitness test without a penalty.

If a student refuses to participate in any part of the fitness exam a score of zero will be given for that section and the student will drop one letter grade for refusal to participate.

If a student is not in their attendance line during warm-ups he/she will receive an unexcused late.  If a student is more than 5 minutes late onto the gym floor without a note a cut slip will be turned in.

If a student reports to the locker room late after the doors have been locked the student must report to the gym, they will not change and will receive an unprepared for the day. (Unless student has a pass).

Progress reports will be sent home when necessary.
