Students:  Here are a few things you will need for my Algebra 1 class:
        * A binder/ notebooks
        * Filler Paper
        * A folder
        * Simple 4 function calculator or better (TI - 34 is recommended)
        * Pencils
        * Erasers
        * Post It Notes will be useful this year for my "Are you STUCK?" board

Note to parents:  Please do not hesitate to contact me via email or call the office and leave me a message if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your child in my class. If you have an email address, emailing me would be the best way to contact me for a prompt response, as I check it multiple times through out the day, both at home and at school.





Join the Math Club and be apart of the RHS Pi-Rates team!  We meet on Tuesday in room 307.  Pi-Rates compete in the NJHS Competitive Math League, tutor High School students, run an annual Pi Day Event and are looking for fun, new, and exciting ideas as to what to do around our HS.  Listen to announcements for when our meetings will take place for the 2011-2012 year.

Class Announcements and Reminders

Classes should have a 3 ringed binder separated into 2 sections: First section for Class Notes/Classwork, and the second section for Handouts to be secured into.

Note:  A separate notebook for Math (NO OTHER SUBJECT) and should be kept neat and in order.  They will be checked through out the school year and you will get a grade on it.

Homework will be handed in on a CLEAN piece of lined loose-leaf paper.  I will NOT accept any homework that is handed in on scraps of paper, with any other work or writing scribbled on it, or on torn sheets of paper.

ALL Notes, Homework, and Do Nows that are handed into me should be dated and in pencil!!

A simple calculator (one that adds, subtract, multiply, and divides) may be needed at home to assist in homework assignments. Suggested calculator - TI - 34.  (Can be purched for under $15 at most stores - target, staples, ect.).

********** Detention:  If you are given a detention, they will take place the following day at 7:30 am in room 307.  You will have 2 chances to come for my detention before being issued a Central Detention.  My detention will last at LEAST 10 minutes, with time added for each additional offense.****************

*** All homework assignments are subject to change.
*** All work handed into me (classwork, homework, Do Now Quizzes, Tests and Quizzes) MUST BE IN PENCIL, otherwise points will be deducted.

Algebra 1:
Tests - 40 %
Quizzes - 30 %
Homework - 20%
Class Work/Class Participation - 10%


Extra Help:
By appointment only - this way it ensures that 1) you have a pass to come in the morning and 2) that I am there after school, as some days I have meetings for various things.
Before School - 7:30 am - 8:00 am (everday)
After School - 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm (by appointment only)
Library Tutoring - you can go to a math teacher in the library during your lunch period for extra help.
