Course Description: Algebra II includes polynomials, systems of equations, quadratic equations, algebraic fractions, and linear functions. Critical thinking and problem solving skills will be used to explore and solve problems.
Required Materials:
3-Subject notebook or binder separated into three sections

- Classwork/Class notes
- Homework
Pencils
Pens (Black or Blue)
Textbook- Algebra II
Grading Policy
Tests: 40%
Quizzes: 30%
Homework: 20 %
Class work: 10%
Homework: Homework will be assigned daily and checked during class. Late work is not accepted for credit. ALL ASSIGNMENTS NOT COMPLETED WILL BE ISSUED A ZERO.
Make-up Work: It is your responsibility to get the notes when absent from class. You have as many days as you were absent to make up any assignments. If you are absent on the day of a test or quiz you will make it up within 24 hours of your return. TESTS AND QUIZZES NOT MADE UP IN THIS TIME FRAME WILL RESULT IN A ZERO.
*If you are absent you must check the binder for your class, which will have detailed assignments for any date that you were absent. It is your responsibility to check the binder for any make-up work you missed while absent.
Classroom Rules:
- DO NOT TALK WHILE SOMEONE ELSE IS SPEAKING.
- No talking during or after a test or quiz, even if you are finished. This will result in a loss of points.
- Come to class on time, everyday. Tardies will result in detentions.
- Be in your assigned seats and working quietly at the bell.
- Come to class prepared with the required materials. Students who are not prepared will not be allowed to leave class to go to their locker, and your class participation grade will be affected.
- Respect others-this includes classmates, teachers, and their property. Do not criticize anyone’s thoughts/ideas.
- All school rules will also be followed in the classroom (Ex: No electronics, hats, food, etc.)
Classroom Procedures:
- Pencils are to be sharpened before class.
- Immediately begin the Do Now when the bell rings.
- No one may leave the room within the first or last 10 minutes of the period.
These guidelines will be enforced and the consequences are:
- Warning
- Detention
- Written Referral/Phone call/e-mail home to parents/guardians
*EXTRA HELP IS AVAILABLE BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL. THERE IS ALSO LIBRARY TUTORING DURING LUNCH PERIODS.
Wednesdays after school are usually faculty/department meetings, which would be the only time I am not available for extra help.
